Went to check out the nearly completed parking and safety improvements with Deputy Mayor Gordon Lambeth and Joesephine Nathan - Kaipara District Councillor yesterday.
The project started onsite in December 2025 and included removing the unsafe State Highway 12 access, putting in a new vehicle entrance from Carrington Street, building new paths and parking areas, improving drainage, and adding fencing. The project main contractor is Red Dell. Fencing contractor is Awakino Contractors. There is still a little bit of site tidy up to do.
The park is looking really great and so much safer with the new fencing. There were lots of kids out enjoying the playground and skate park on a lovely autumn evening.
